Colby in Taylorville

Posted by: TRX125kid

The qauds are looking good lets keep'em rollin

ps.On Colbys race bike how are you running the ac propegs? Did you have to buy special adapters to make them work because they are not listed on ac's website for a trx90

Posted by: Bayman111

I've wondered the same thing. The quadtech seat is another thing, I saw that seat on Taylor Seale's quad also.

They are made for a kasea 90, we had to do some welding to make them fit.

You can get the seat covers from Quad Tech

Thats a loaded question!!!!!!!!
For us at the GNCC the tracks are wide OPEN so since the Cobras have more overall speed they tend to win IF they can stay running. As for maintance the Cobras take alot more then the Hondas. We have over 13, 1hour races on ours with NO problems,no rebuilds,no blown motors no nothing. I think the Hondas handle much better but are just a little down on power.....for now!!!! Just my 2cents.

Posted by: TRX125kid

as far as the ac propegs go i thaught welding modiffications to the frame were allegal in the production mod class is there something i am missing?

If it is for safety reasons it is legal to weld nerf bars to frame.

Brandon is at work, so I will respond.

With a good rider yes the Cobras will run with the TRXs 90's. But you have to have equal riders on BOTH quads. You take Colby and Taylor for instance against my boys Cody and Cole, you never know who is going to win. It seems to come down to who has better luck that day. I am not saying other riders or not good, I am just giving you an example. So please don't take it that I am saying anything against other riders. You also have to take in consideration that we are still only running 80cc. The true 90cc motors are just coming out, hopefully we can get them dialed in soon.

AS far as the Cobra holding up, we have ran 10 or 11 Nationals this year. We had a case gsaket leak in GA, that is it. Actually we are running the same motors from last year, one is an 06 and the other is an 05. We put a new piston, rings, and gasket set in it before Alabama this year. A new gasket in GA.

Last year we went all season on the same piston and rings. No ISSUES with motors at all. We did have issues with our Clutches, BUT that was my BOYS not the Cobra. I am not saying we want have motor trouble the next time we race, you never know.

Wade, hope Colby is doing well. Cole is still up in the air for NY, but hopefully by Lorettas he will be able to race. Hopefully we will retire the 80cc motor by then and run the true 90cc motor.

Thanks for explaining that Sonia I hope Cole gets back on the track soon. Its tough when this kids work so hard all year long and have a accident and get behind for the rest of the year. We are hoping Colby will be ready for Lorettas. See ya there

Wade

It is hard, especially when they have a passion for racing like Colby and Cole does. I know it is killing Colby like it is Cole.

Did you get your new Motorhome yet? I heard it was going to be HUGE. Can't wait to see it.

Tell Colby that Cole said hello. See you soon.

Hey have you heard from the Brocatos? I have tried calling Cody several times but I have not got him to answer his phone.

Reliability is really just a matter of how far you want to push the motor in terms of HP. The two strokes in our area that are built to the limit for MX ALL replace pistons and rings very often. Be it a cobra or a honda cr or whatever. My trx90's that are built to the limit for mx may also need the same so i'm not trying to say one is any better than the other.

Exactly, miniquads are faster then they have ever been. You are going to have reliablity issues with anything that you race. It is YOUR preference to what you want to run. The Hondas will keep up with the Cobras, the Cobras will keep up with Hondas how ever you want to put it. They both have reliabilty issues just like anyother race quad out there.

Always bend the front bar foward about a inch before you weld them on. They also come with 4 peices of pipe to weld to your frame.

Sonia I haven't talk to anyone, I don't think they have good cell service
