My boss challenged me to a race tomorrow. I have a mod. 400ex (see mods below) and he has a Polaris 800 something, I think it is a sportman, but I don't really know. I know that the big bore utility are fast, we have a 650 outlander max. Before the outlander would just beat me, now once I hit fourth gear I walk away from the otty. Will I don't know much about polaris and was wondering what will happen. He don't have any mods on his but brags that his will walk away from mine. I know how to ride it and hit every gear almost perfect what will happen? And he said that it only tops out at about 55 to 60. Well not knowing Polaris I think he is BSing me. Our 650 outty will do 73+. Let me know some info.

i think it will be a close race if your boss and u race on a big enough stretch he could reach 80 mph easy

I'm curious how you think the 800 Sportsman will do 80mph???
I see you have one, but it would have to be in the back of a truck to do that. I have a 500 and raced a friends 800. He beat me yes but never pulled away at top end and mine does 60mph tops. By the way the 400EX will win the race, it weighs less then half as much. Update us when it gets done.

I took it into work last week and he wanted to wait on racing until I jetted right. It is jetted and we were going to race but the doctor wanted me off this week. So I am hoping that I can go back next week and race him.

the Honda 400 EX will definatly win but it would be pretty close because the Sportsman 800 can get up there with the speed. it definatly has the power to do some damage.
