ok well i got my first z 400 and im replacing rear axle bearings but i cnt figure out wether i cn keep the sprocket on and take the brake hub off and slide or i keep brake hub on and sprocket off?? i tried taking brake hub off and its being pesterous somebody got n e advice

My advice? Bite the 25 Dollar bullet and buy a complete manual for it.

i just replaced the bearings in mine. go ahead and take off the sprocket hub off. the z rear end was by far the easiest i've ever worked on. strip the axle on the sprocket side tale the brake caliper off on the other and pull the axle bearing carrier and all out.

The brake rotor hub on a stock Z00 axle does NOT come off, it is pressed on from the factory.
