its all good people....a good race is a good race

Posted by: wolfpack91

Pappy you are absolutly right about the ATVA pros, they were BOTH fast today!!

Posted by: 400exrider99

i was at the race today. it was such a good day

Posted by: yoshi470

yea i was at the race today as well and i must say it was some of the best race action i've seen but i really wanted wienen to win he is the man!

Posted by: DEVINF450R

Imagine how it would be if we could have this kind of racing every weekend. I wish they would combine the series!

Posted by: LTR450_#67

That was some great racing. First GNC I have ever been too (I only watched) and I must say it was a great time. Wienen still came out like 7th overall.

Too funny...I was thinking the same thing as I read through each post starting at the beginning realizing that I was reading the same names I always read. I am glad you pointed this out to those wondering if the WPSA put an end to ATVA racing.

Who said this?? I think is what I heard was that there were 3 or 4 top fast pros and the rest were pro am and A riders that moved up when the gates were available. That I thought was the truth am I wrong??

I beleive I heard this weekend from several different people that one of the top GNC pros stated in a interview that none of the fast pros left!!! (so that means Wimmer, Natalie, Gust, Wienen, Little etc are slow) I did not hear this interview myself but was told by plenty! Moto #1 Wienen and Gust had the fastest lap time! WOW! I guess they are so much slower.

Byrd won! He ran a great race with no mistakes and no problems. Congradulations.

I'm sure there will be great TV coverage to see for all that were not there. With all the cameras out there I bet they got all the great racing action for us to see for ourselves.

I made that statement and this last race proved it. I am not say it was not a good race. I am saying the ATVA pro MX events are a joke now. You have 3 top PRO races that have made every race and finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd 99%of the time. Then you have the 4 bottom Pro races, 2 who have made 9 out of 10 races and 2 who made 6 out of 10 races. This 7 is your core racers for ATVA Pro Class. In the last race the bottom 4 racers finished 11th, 12th, 13th, and 15th out of 15. You had Two Team Suzuki racers racing in support of the Japan National Champion. 4 Pros form the other Race series and one first time ATVA Pro races who took 8th place. Team Kawasaki has made only one ATVA race. The other series has had nothing but full field in the PRO race. The ATVA has had one full field and average 12 Pros for the other races. I sure hope The ATVA makes some big changes for next year because the bottom 4 may be the top 4.

I think your topic and mine are very seperate deals...haha I'd love to hear more but I know how it goes. Boy the pot could get stirred just a WEE bit if one was so inclined. (this is exactly why i smile and take pictures and call it a day...lol)

i reckon youll need to have doug show'em who's boss

I think you've misunderstood the topic of the thread. No one's saying that Gust,Wimmer,Wienen,Natalie or any other of the top pro's are slow.We are saying the GNC pro class has suffered this year with most of the top pro's racing the WPSA series. Can't blame them though...... if i raced mx i would more than likely be running the WPSA.
I just want to see all of the top atv pro's together again....not split up between the 2 series. The GNC race this past weekend was much better to watch because we knew that with Gust and Wienen racing that it more than likely wasn't going to be the usaul Byrd,Lawson,Brown 1,2,3 finish.

The call that was made was that Joe Byrd is the only solid runner in the ATVA and the other guys wouldn't be able to qualify for a WPSA race. I think Brown and Lawson showed they can run with the guys in the WPSA race.

Explain to me if I misunderstood the original comments.."Only 8 Pros raced this weekend. The ATVA MX pro race is a joke. Byrd will be champion over the also ran guys who could not qualify for the WPSA."

I don't think you misunderstood anything. We know that Lawson and Brown can compete at the top level.I was referring to Cindi,as i thought she misunderstood the thread.

Posted by: tw1976

I was at Walnut this past weekend and saw the pro motos. There is no doubt in my mind that Byrd, Lawson, and P. Brown would qualify for the show at the WPSA. They are just as fast as the top runnners in the WPSA.

This is the first ATVA National I have been to this year. The other four or five guys that have been running pro this year at the ATVA have no business being there in my opinion. They weren't even in the same zip code as the front runners. It looked like two seperate races at times. Its pretty sad that anyone willing to shell out for a pro card can line up on the gate and make a fool of themselves.

About the only thing more boring then the second moto was the big Woman's Pro-am race with two people.

Posted by: Maxxis96

Sad to say but when I was at High Point the Pro-Am class more enjoyable to watch then the pros.....

Posted by: 310ESR

It looks to me that the fast guys are in ATVA. Or did I read the results wrong.

Posted by: hasbeenttduner

This is getting old.The top 6 riders right now are split between the two.7- aprox 18 are all at one and 90% of the next 20 best riders that are racing the nationals are all at that one too.And that would be the wpsa.Maybe next year things will change but in 07 thats the way it is.And I am talking about the pro class so lets not all start crap about pro am guys that are faster then some of the riders in my post.

Posted by: readybeartoe

Honda should give a litttle more attention to the ATVA especially with Joe being the ATVA Champion on a Honda! Maybe this would help bring a little more attention to the ATVA.???
I've been hearing so much about Factorys doing so much for our sport and all.... Since there are 2 series at the same time, All Factorys should have 2 seperate MX teams that consist of at least 4 Full sponsored riders and 2 full sponsored rigs. Then they could be present at both series and keep it interesting!

It's kind of sad that team Suzuki have stacked their team with the fastest riders (well almost the fastest) and still can't find their way to the podium in the *ATVA*anymore! LOL!yes, this is a challenge!LOL!

Kawasaki's Team must be scared of Byrd, Lawson, and Brown too!
