Well today i put my motor back together and got it back in the frame started right up, rode it home got the chain tension right then washed it up.

after that i took it out for a ride, i was pulling up into a wheelie when it suddenly dropped. it turns out the red o ring chain i picked up off ebay couldnt handle the power

im still goin to the mx track tommorow just have to use and old chain till i get a DID or Renthal.

You got your self a cheap chain . Some things you dont go cheap on and i noticed you have over half your motormont bolts are missing.

Yea they were missing when i bought it, its an 89 but it has a spacer plate as well... i think this is why the top one is missing.

If you want to keep hose front motor mounts on the frame without cracks you better put the bolts back in. You can get them from a hardware store for nothing. I ran mine with loose nuts and cracked the right motor mount almost all the way off in less than an hour or riding. Make sure you try and get the ones with nylon rings in them so they dont vibrate loose like mine did. That may also contribute to chain failure.

you can use a headstay with a spacer plate, I have an atc and trx with spacer plates and use the headstay mount. My friend does too, his uses a spacer plate(it was my old motor) and the headstay lines up. I was gonna comment about not having the headstay, I was told that not using the headstay can cause the frame to crack worse. Some guys don't bolt it to the cylinder head, why I don't know????
