I just installed a Dr. D pipe but other than that it's stock. I really want to get into racing but don't really know what I need. Can anyone tell me the bare essentials I would need in order to race?

get a kill switch (pro design) nerf bars (blingstar or AC) then you are ready to go race. you dont have to get evrything but definatly get a kill switch because you WILL need that.

Thanks for the info! What about protective gear? Obviously I have helmet but what about chest protectors, boots, etc??

yea you prolly want to get some boots, chest protector and you might as well get a jersey,pants,and gloves.
