I have a Warrior 350 now and I'm going to be getting into the racing scene and was wondering if it would be a good trade up bike, I'm 16 and 5'11" and have enough experience to handle it, is the YFZ a good choice or is the a better 450 out there?

well i think it would be fine cuz i am only 15 and i went from a 300ex for just messin around and now i ride an ltr450 for mx and the transition was good. its actually safer for me beacuse of the wide mx a-arms (kept flippin the 300 over sideways) i would do it if i was you

my brother went from a worrior to a yfz, pretty much for the same reason you want to, so he could race. and he loves yamaha. but in your case, depending on what your going to race, there could be a better 450. if your going to do MX racing, just save your self the hassle and get an LTR450, becouse its already wide.. belive me it was no fun trying to ride a track on a stock 450r couse it was too narrow.

No he saying the wide a arms on the ltr are preventing him from flipping compared to his 300 where he was flipping everywhere. Read the post bro, not too hard to understand. You write a lot of nonscence on these forums.

Uhhhhh yea i do know some of this stuf dude. so stop bashing everyone that just trys to help out and knows stuf from experience because i have been around quads and have been working on them for a long time so YOU and TAR need to chill out. the stuff i dont know about i just check the thread out and i dont reply.
and BTW my brother has a YFZ. i have helped him work on it and i have rode it so i know how much power it has and if it would be a good quad for someone WAY taller than me.

my personal favorite was in the 250r section a couple weeks ago... a guy asked if it was ok if his coolant hose was touching his pipe...
one guy responded "oh yah that is fine- your coolant only runs between 120-150 degrees"
then when i told him he was wrong he posted a pic of his bike with a temp guage in the hose...
im pretty sure the guy wasnt worried about the coolant burning a hole in his pipe!

i am confused here, the coolant would burn a hole in the exhaust pipe?
i probably am a perfect example of someone saying something stupid, lol

no- the guy responded saying it would be ok cuz the coolant was only 120-150 degrees...
thats all good and well and may be, but that pipe is considerably hotter than that, and that is what you would need to be worried about... i was making a joke, saying im pretty sure the concern was not the coolant burning the pipe, but the pipe burning the hose and spewing the coolant out...

I went from a warrior to a 06 YFZ450SE and I like it alot. My Mods are in my Sig. I'd get the YFZ The power and TQ is good. Iam saving for +2-4 A-arms. and rims and tires. Iam going with 18x10x8s Back and 20x6x10 fronts. Iam getting Baja or beadlock rims.

Go for the beadlocks, way better!
