Steering Rack?

Does any one know if there are any adjustments that can be made on the steering rack? There is so much play in the steering its rediculous. The tie rod ends are tight on the spindles and the balljoints have no play. It seems to all be inside the rack and I don't want to replace it. Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Mark
