hello again, thought i had a problem, sure enough, my brand new outlaw produced in april of 2007 has a bad oil leak after its first outing, (1 hour, 1.5 hours?) the leak, after cleaning my engine and throwing baby powder on it to track its for sure location, is coming from my engine case bolt located directly under the rear oil filter. blank hole, then this case bolt im speaking of, where on a ktm is the vent hoses for the carb have a carrier( its an empty spot on the outlaw, but all ktm's have the carrier and the owners manual for the outlaw shows it in the outlaw on page 116, see the bolt and the carrier im talking about, yup, thats the one, made it seem like its just missing a bolt doesnt it, but no! thats were i first thought the leak was , but talked to ktm and the hole doesnt go all the way thru) , right below this is a engine case bolt, i called two ktm dealers who varified that indeed is a case bolt...... has a nasty leak, i mean start it up and watch it leak, gotta love it!!! Dont get me started about the rear wheels that i have not jumped with and also have ONLY ridden on groomed trails, not perfectly groomed, but not at all sandy or gravelly that ALREADY, AFTER JUST ONE HOUR , MAYBE 1.5 HOURS AND HAVE ALREADY STARTED THE GRINDING O' SO MANY OF YOU HAVE STATED HAS HAPPENED. Dont get me wrong guys, other then this shtuff, the quad is by far the best quad on the trails, i love it, just wish the oil and wheel problem would go away! NO ONE SHOULD PAY 7 THOUSAND HARD EARNED DOLLARS AND GET WHAT I GOT! LOVE THE IRS BUT COME ON!!!!! chad snyder 765 474 2029 crounpoint@gmail.com, please tell everyone you know not to buy one unless you hate them!

If it is leaking it should still be under warranty have the dealer fix it. You will have to give them some major grief the case cost $1000.00 plus labor. If they due not fix it get your money back. Mine has not leaked in six months. On the rear wheels on lower A-arms there are two bumps just grind them down they are what are grinding the wheels. Or go too 10 inch wheels like me, lost of room.

i think if the tabs didnt need to be there, looks like their trying to reinforce that area, polaris and there group of nasa like engineers( complete sarcasm) would have fixed it between 06 and 07 production, as far as going to 10 inch rims, if i got beadlocks it might work, but if not i will break beads easier, that why its got 9 inch rims on it? right? anyways, as far as the warranty, who gives a @#$%, i bought it to ride it, not to have polaris' group of hack mechanics hold it for week on end, after paying 7 grand, thats b.s, i had 2, count them 2 honda trx 450r 's and neither the 2005 or my new paid for 2007 that i traded for this piece of $#@% and it just sucks that its not a quality machine like my hondas where, and what gives with this engine, on the net people rave everywhere that the 525 is solid as a hammer, a leaky hammer . i think now monday morning quarter backing i would rather just push my straight axle backwards then have this p.o.s! oh ya, after one hour of riding my dealer who was indy power sports in whitestown indiana told me "it is a used quad, thats why it has a warranty" fu$# him and indypower sports, wouldnt trade me my quad back or anything, told me to bring it to his staff, the 1 and only tech they have, i'll pass on, i would rather take it somewhere else, which is what im doing, waiting to see what they say polaris is going to do, I still owe 3038.00 im just about ready to sell it on ebay for 5500.00 BUY IT NOW! have fun guys riding it tomorrow, after i fill it up with oil !!!!!

Take it to the dealer you have to give them the chance to fix the leak if they don't then get all your money back and get a Honda 450

outlaw bill, i think this thing is sweet and im going to the dealer, but im a certified tech and these guys will probably just yamabond my bolt, and when i asked them that, they said ya we probably will just yamabond it, but they got a call into polaris to see how they want to handle it, i dont want to give them my quad until they tell me its gonna be a half hour and were gonna yamabond it, or its gonna be three weeks and your f$%#( just been topping off the 40 dollar a jug oil and ridding, cause thats what i bought it for, and its not a pressurized part of the engine so it doesnt matter!). the dealer i got it from, i called after a one hour ride to drive to return this and get my quad, and he or no other person is refunding anything, he said " its a used quad, im not taking anything back" so as far as getting my money back, it aint happening or i wouldnt even be here, i would be ridding my 2007 trx 450 r that was paid for and ran great that i traded for my oillaw 525, i meant my outlaw 525! but these guys at the dealer im feeling better about , indianapolis polaris victory, will hopefully be able to stop the bleeding. ps gonna post some pics, hopefully today of my puddles of oil!
