I hope so..

I would assume that it is the Honda pattern, as that seems to be the standard. The C'Dale's had Honda pattern as well.

I don't think you can really consider the size of the bolt pattern as an "innovation". It's simply what Honda used waay back in 1986 on the 250R and since 95% of the race quads until 2004 were 250R's, everyone had wheels with the Honda bolt patterns. It's kinda been a "snowball" effect ever since. The MFG's knew that people wouldn't want to buy new beadlock wheels just because their new 450 had a different pattern (think C'Dale, 'Zuki 450, TRX450,etc). I guess it was sort of a favor to us.
This is also the reason you can buy Yamaha splined hubs with the Honda bolt patterns. It's a matter of convenience, not "innovation".
At least that's what my thoughts on the subject are.

Ahhh, gotcha. Well, can't argue those facts. They got it damn near perfect with the 250R (geometry) and you can't really get a simpler chain tensioner system. (You could, but it wouldn't be as durable/maintenance free).
Some are pretty much copying the radiator shroud design of the YFZ450 though.

Using the term invent loosley.
Actually I beleive Suzuki "invented" the 2nd generation race atv (quad) with the LT250R. Honda perfected it with the TRX250R, however.

Yep. Suzuki is the company that started it all.

I know where there is a 1985 Suzuki Quadracer for sale, PEP Front Schoks, +2 Arms, Braided Lines, Durablue Axle, Riken Grooved Front Tires, Turf Tamers on the back, FMF Pipe/Silencer/Reeds, Maier Race Cut Plastic.
I don't think the guy wants much for it. If anyone is interested, PM me I'll send you the #. It's in Western PA, near Sharon.

Don't forget these other "firsts", all stock on the Moto. Keep in mind this was a 2001 model, that means it's taken 7 model years for someone to catch up with MOST of these features. I hope Can-Am succeeds where Cannondale failed.
Wave Rotors, front and rear
Braided Stainless Brake Lines, F/R
18" Rear and 20" Front Tires
Wider A-arms
Wider Axle
Tag "Fat" Bars
Hydraulic Clutch
Gripper Seats
Race Shocks (Ohlins, with Rezzies)
Removable Subframe?(did 400EX have one? can't remember)
Handguards (might of only been the Blaze models, again, can't remember)
Heim Joint Tie Rods
Heavy Duty Steering Stems (made by Arens)
FMF Titanium Exhaust
Pro-Peg Nerf Bars
It still pains me today that they couldn't make a go of it. Thanks for getting the ball rolling C'Dale!!!
