Help..I cant get my rear wheels off.

I installed my rear sand tires, went to the dunes and now that I am home, i went to take off my sand tires and wheel to reinstall my dirt tires and I cannot get the sand tires off. Yes the lug nuts are off.

The things are just stuck on. Any ideas on how I could get them off?

Kick them or use a rubber mallet maybe???

its because ur sand tires arent tapered...suzuki lug nuts require that.same thing happened to me, their a pain to get off. next time just throw some washers in their

tgreenz400 I think you misread what he said....and that is he has the lugnuts off but the rims are still stuck on the hub.....

I have the same problem and was wondering what the best way is to get them off...tried hittem it didnt work...any ideas?

Thanks for the help all. So I got them off. What I did was put a 2x6 on the back side of the rim to avoid any damage to the rim and took a sledge hammer and hit the 2x6 a few times and they eventually popped off. It took a couple decent pops to get them off.

Now to prevent it would i put the washers on the back side of the rim? I would rather avoid this in the future.

You put your tapered lug nuts on a flat rim. Your lucky you didn't blow your wheel off. Get some flange nuts for for your sand tires.

hahahahah the same happened to me, but worse...... i was going to the dunes, but i putted my sandtires on the incorrect side, so i tried to take em out but they just didnt come off..... so i just hammered it with a piece of wood and a ruber hammer and they are off

WARNING this is really hard and would need to take some hours

If you take the wheel and hub off the axle, you can beat the hub out of the wheel with out bending your rim.

Dude, **** happens and he's askin for help. Don't you think he's already saying to himself "why the hell did I put tapered nuts on a flat wheel"? If you just want to call people stupid, then go start a thread called "Please post in here so I can call you stupid", I'm sure you'll get lots of traffic in that thread.

your taper nuts are only tapered on one side

just put the nuts on taper side out,
no washers, other nuts or beating required

you cant flip LTR lug nuts around to use the flat side because of the ridge next to the tapered side, you cant fit a socket over it. I ground down all the ridges on my lugnuts that way i could use them on my stock wheels and my hipers which require a flat lugnut.

Put a crobar inside the hub and pry the succkers off. Use the hub nut for leverage. Next time try not to tighten them too much.

Exactly what I was thinking... Same thing happened to 2 different riding buddies of mine and both of them had their wheel fall off while riding. The mating surface is not enough for the lugnut to stay in place and it will vibrate off. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and match up the thread of a stock Suzuki lugnut to a flatside lugnut. Or you could just use stock Yamaha lugnuts if you have access to them. Don't cheap out on lugnuts or you will pay later.

That really isn't cool, a steel nut cuts into the soft aluminum wheels really easy. You should use flat washers.
