ok you all might call me stupid but i have always liked the older style plastic on 400ex's but mine is a 2005 so it's got the newer style.... i wanted reverse so that's why i didn't opt for the older bike to start with. ok to the question.... will older style stock plastic bolt up to a new bike? any one done this conversion? i wasn't sure if the mounting tabs would be different or not? thanks alot guys

The conversion for the new 400 works the same for the old ones. The plastic can be used with the change of the gas tank and brackets.

There is a conversion sold for older bikes on ebay from one of the dealerships in dayton,ohio but not one that I know of for the newer ones.

you don't need a different gas tank. It will bolt right up. The lights will need some wiring because the plug is different
