i just put an 89 update on my 86 250r. have the clutch adjusted all the way out on the handle and on the motor, and still have no clutch, well just barely enough to tell that it is working. any ideas whats wrong?

Check the adjustment on the left side by the cylinder. Also make sure the pressure plate sits flat against the disc and inner hub.

did the update kit have the flat washer that sits between the bearinged button and the pressure plate? is the cable new? your using the 89 pressure plate?

I had the same problem last week when i installed my 89 udate...
ended up being that my pressure plate broke where it retains one of the springs.
anyway here's the thread....

no the kit did not have the flat washer that goes between the thrust bearing and the pressure plate. i have searched around on trying to get one for it, but service honda does not show the washer on their prints. i have also called my local honda dealer to try and get one from them, and they told me the same thing. i ordered all the parts when i did the update from service honda, so it technically was not in a kit, i just ordered everything that was seen on their page. what should i do about getting one of these washers? or could someone please give me the specs on it so i can just go find one for it?
