Is my raptor 350 over heating?

I cant tell what its doing after riding it for a while it loses some power the tranny is really hard to shift and i get alittle blue smoke. I let it sit for a while then its okay then it does it again. It doesnt smoke all the time only when it seems to get hot, but if it over heats would it still run? T hanhks for any help or info.
