have a complete 01 rebuilt 88. 20 g's invested over the years. i have a ct 310 + exhaust. was wondering which is the better way to go big on the top end...................330 350 ? esr ...ct..? doesn't a 350 t/e put a lot of stress on the lower end being its not a square motor.......ie cts 310 is 72x 72. want to go big but stay reliable.....no stroking.......and non p/v. any ideas?

Lot of people say the big bore does, but my daughters 330 she races, I built it in 04 & its still winning races this season, so that throws that out the window.
Being over squaires not a problem, if it is then alot of blaster & banshee owner have screwed up big time.
Look at the Saber 500 250R cylinder, 90.00mm piston 72mm stroke & even went to a 70mm destroked crank to rev it more.

how much stress is the saber 500 on the 250r trans w/ yukon gears. how long will the trans last? 5oo sounds almost too big?

I realy couldnt say on the 500, dont have one, but on the 330 or 350 Pro-x cylinders with stock 89 gears the transmission last a good while.
I use dexron II for trans oil & have a killer clutch mod that will work on those left hand clutch fingers & my daughter after the first lap wont use the clutch so its shifting with out it every time.
I built her 330 in 04 & only thing touched on it up till now has been the head dome replaced, so that trans has had some abuse.
We race TT & run local & nationally events so that engine has some hours run time.

Oh, I've got a set of Yukons just waiting till I need them one day, but they have been waiting a good while so far.

piston ..under 20 hrs on 3rd bore...cast head... 2 .domes one for race one for pump. base plate [ natural alum ] and maybe a couple of extra o ring head gaskets. this is from my 88.....with long rod. i guess 600. takes it. mid range pipe and new style ct silencer also avail.
