indicator lights in flexx bar pad, help needed

i saw someone on here had flexx bars and the had mounted their indicator lights in the bar pad, i was just wondering if anyone else had done this and if they can give me a quick run-down of how to do it

Just drill 3 hole in the pad. I cant remember the size you need to drill. its easy and you really can mess it up!

ha I just did this, and it looks trick ;-) I got a thin piece of plastic (old gas tank cover piece from my YFZ) and cut it nearly the same size as the bar pad and drilled 3 holes in the plastic for a template, then drilled 3 holes in the foam, then put the foam and plastic over the bars and poked holes in the pad cover and drilled through that too and cut away the middle part of the pad cover so the wires for the lights can come up through the pad from the bottom, it looks trick I'll have to get some pics for you

did you do it on an ltr? and did you have to extend the wires for the lights?

yeah I did it on my LTR, and no you don't have to, just pull off the front plastics and cut the zip tie that holds the light wires, and re route them under the metal plate and it should give you a couple extra inches, I have a Roll Design extended stem and (inch taller) flexx bars and there's just enough slack for mine to work

idk I'm sure there may be a way to do it with Tag bars but it would be tough because there isn't as much pad to work with, like with the Flexx Bars the pad isn't covering the bar clamp it's just covers the 2 cross braces so you can put the lights in the middle of the pad but idk how that would work with Tag bars and pad, but good luck. Yeah I've had everything stay in place so far, I drilled holes in a thin piece of plastic the size of the bar pad and actually put it under the cover so the plastic holds the lights in place just like the stock plastic piece, the only difference is the plastic is under the pad cover.
