i checked previous threads and none addressed my problem, so here goes:
i cleaned my stock air filter (01' 400EX - no mods) some time ago using warm water and a mild detergent (palmolive, i think). I soaked it with the foam filter oil (Honda brand). when i removed it the other day to clean it i noticed it was very tacky to the touch. if you touch it and pull your finger away it kind of sticks to it...
is this normal or bad? help please as i plan on completing this tonight...

Yeah thats the point. Its supposed to be tacky so the dirt will stick to it.

after u clean it it should not be sticky but once u oil it it should. Its there to trap the dirt and keep it there so it doesnt go further into ur engine
