i'm fine to buy a 1996 warrior and a buddy of my has a 400ex will the warrior keep up with it if it won't what all can i do to it.

Stock it dosn't have any chance.. but with some work you can make it smoke a 400.. You need to talk to dave76.. he's the motor man when it comes to warriors...

I just have a stock bore... with 10.25:1 piston.. but it still got up and moved at that last race on the holeshot.. I was suprised it started that quick..

Considering it's a 96 it may not have had a rebuild, so stock not a chance, they only make 18HP. FST makes a 366 kit which comes with a 85mm 10.5:1 compression (stock is 9.2:1) JE piston, megacycle .450 lift 252X1 cam, titanium valve springs and retainers, heavy duty clutch springs and a oil cooler kit for about $499. Without head porting this kit according to Mickey Dunlap of FST makes 28HP, you'll be able to keep up with piped 400EXs now.
