Problem Starting

My LTR has a problem starting. It cranks for like a minute or two sometimes more and then finally starts. When it does start it runs just fine and everything and after it has started the first time its easier to start back up after i turn it off. Any suggestions about this problem if so it would greatly be appreciated, thanks.

i dono if this is true or not but they told me if you have trouble starting it it can be ur valve clearences....

Thats what everyone has told me but i just got this motor back from yoshi and surely the valves arent messed up already

I had the exact same problem and it was that my valves needed t be adjusted. They were pretty much closed...

are all shims the same or do you have to order for your bike specifically

All the shims for the Japanese 450s are the same, as they all have a diameter of 9.48mm. When I adjusted my exhaust valves I just went and got some shims from the Honda dealer since I don't like the Zuki dealer.
