It wasn't pretty but it was fast as all hell. With out a big bore kit in it, it would pull away on 250r's and it got away from my 450r one day too lol he caught me sleeping in a corner.

Posted by: honda450rider33

you must have some hefty porting or other mods to pull away from 250r's

Posted by: ATC_KING

i think it is cool when you ride looks like crap but will beat a lot of stuff.

Posted by: South Side

Very heavy porting in the motor. Plus we took lot's of time to get it geared right. Tri-valley Racing TJ can vouch how fast it was.

Posted by: ATC_KING

what is it geared at?

Posted by: blasterfreak99

wait until i get pics from my first mx race. there was only one class or quads with beginner, amateur, and pro classes. i finished 3rd the first moto and second the second moto for an overall finish of 2nd. i was the only blaster there, the only two stroke there, and the only quad under 400ccs there.

Posted by: yamaharider05

Haha that is sweet way to go.

Posted by: blasterfreak99

thanks man and good job to you to, pbblaster2.

hey you got the same tire setup as me!! lol. do you have any pics of the other side? i wanna see how the pipe/silencer is on there.

Posted by: QuadJunkies

We run several dif. tire combos.. For MX the stock LTR radials are da bomb! both front AND rear.
We are now running the new MAxxis Razr Cross tires and had great results with them as well for XC racing.

You will be able to read a little bitabout them on our test review thatwill be posted on the site anytime now.
Also, thr will be an article in Atv sport about them .

Yes, its a custom pipe . its a Dyno Port exhaust.
We even made a heat shield so she can wear her over the boot riding pants w/o buring them . lol

Posted by: woodsracer144

is that a 85 motor?!? or like a 65

Posted by: blasterfreak99

yea its a kx85

Posted by: woodsracer144

how does it compair to the blaster motor? does it bog down at all?

Posted by: QuadJunkies

This one has alot more poop to it than a stock blaster I was not pleased with the blasters power in stock form at all... Now with some motor work, that changes things! The Blaster RIPS when modded
We have a 91cc motor and now a new motor that will be a 101and will be stroked to run in an open class. We will save the current motor for a backup. We have ran into that once this year

I done a big rebuild topic on it from the ground up last fall.
It was ALOT of work to rebuild(we had not planned that part as it was sold to us in rough shape) when my Daughter outgrows it, my son will get it then and possible throw a 150 in it down the road. Its very versitle ....
Its approx 27hp the way its built now.
We just bought and FMF pipe for the new motor and were going to experiment a bit with sound DB's and getting more low end power, the stroke will change that for sure!

As for bog...you mean the motor vs weight?
the chassis actually does very well with these hybrids. You pretty much need to do a little motor work to pep them up abit as the 85 is somewhat flat spots in power.. We have this one built for the RPM hits differently and are experimenting a little on what works for her style of racing.now that she is alot more comfortable with her shifting we can change that .

Posted by: woodsracer144

would a 125 motor give out more power than the stock motor? or slightly modded(pipe reeds bored a bit over...)

Posted by: QuadJunkies

compared to which motor ?The 85 or the Blaster motor?
The 125 is FAST! I cant remember what the HP is out of the box, but they are fast for sure!I think they would be more maintenace involved running that motor, we already have enough for that now.lol
The only thing I am not fond of on that motor is the vibaration is horrible. I would think you would need to serioously weld a frame for it to hold together also. I know we have seen a few 125's that race in my Daughter class before .
Id much rather run the 250 4-strk. over the 125
MY daughter ran a bored motor the last race that was a stroked 10?? motor and it vibrated alot more than just the bore kit.
The 250 4stroke would be another good choice and something I guess we could think about until she is old enough to run with the big dawgs.
Of course these are all ideas on Hybrids.

Now as for the Blaster, I have seen some very fast Blasters in the WORCS series over the years .Some of those guys you would swear was racing a 450!! But Ive also been told you have to be careful on the bores and dont get too out there or they wont hold together either.

Posted by: woodsracer144

yeah...
i wounder if you oculd run the KTM 200 xc in the blaster class?? any one know... its 200 cc's but its liquid cooles... that would have to haul

i just saw something...
why o you run razr mx's on the race bike and holeshot mxr4's? on the prac. bike?

Posted by: blasterfreak99

man your race bike is looking better than ever, mark. what is different from last years?

Posted by: blaster99

we jsut changed the motor and a few other things.. it costed about 15 grand to make the race bike. i gun razrson the race bike becasue razrs are the best tire you cna buy, no doubt, and i run the holeshots on the practice quad becasue i got them on those rims for 40 bucks so i decided i would loose some traction while practicing and save some money. but dont worry, i got some bradnd new razrs for it, whe n iordered tires for the race quad i ordered them for 8 inch rims, wrong size butthey fit the practice quad..

oh yeah.. there forsale at the end of the year. i want a yfz so pleeeeaase buy them!

how much for the rolling chassis on the race bike? and whats it got for a motor?

Posted by: blaster99

that motor eats 300s to peices. its go an arisal cylender ported by R.E.P. modded piston to match the porting, exhaust port work, hot rods rod i belive.. falcon super crank thast lightned ballenced and welded, then its got crazy bottom end stuff done to it, i honestly dont know what it is, but the motor builder said it spins the fuel adding a **** load of horses, and let me tel lyou, it dose. its got dp plates, hinson basket, degree key, and so muc hmore haha oh yeha 210 psi of compression. my dad wants 7 grand for the entire race bike, price is semi negotiable. we dont want to part out.

I sent out Eviltwin's ported jug today to get carbide bored. Soon my friend.
It is up in running just a lil worn. The shocks are 06' YFZ's.

$320 for the set of 3 not bad at all.

Posted by: woodsracer144

thas not too bad for all 3 of them... my buddy gets at least 275+ for most the stock 450r shocks that hes sells and for another 200 you can buy your self a pair of good used elkas... there was a 250r rear duel rate rezzys fully adj. that was at 107 when it ended... i dont know if the guy sold it... if he did he got a hell of a deal...

Yeah, that's my Banshee on there. Thanks!
Are you running aftermarket A Arms or stocks? How does it sit all around, & do the shocks simply bolt on or need modifying like my Shee? I'm getting my daughter a blaster soon. Thanks for the info. You're going to Blast out of this world when Flotek is done with it!

I run ASR +3 up 1 arms. For stock arms the YFZ shocks bolt on after you grind the lower shock mount. For ASR's they bolt straight up.

Stock arms
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c387/pb_paulie_b/IM000532.jpg
The rear takes some mods. I cut the bottom of the shock down and drilled a new bolt hole. The top of the rear YFZ shock has a smaller diameter bolt hole then the Blaster uses. I made what I call a 'tapered' bolt for this. The stance is higher overall which for real world riding works. IMO the stock Blaster sits like a kids quad...PB
