what are the torque specs for the 6 head bolts on a 300ex. are the 2 allen head bolts the same as the 4 cap nuts. i done a search and found an old post that said 17 ft pounds but just wanted to double check since that sounded a little low. itching to get it together, put in the 12 to 1 piston, new clutch and springs, ported and polished head and got my web cam today.

i checked my 300ex and 250x honda manual's and they list 29 ft lbs. for all head bolts. i don't know what manual you found that 17 in? maybe it was nM? either way, its 29 ft. lbs. also be sure to use some oil and moly grease on the threads and under the heads.

thanks, figured the 17 was a little low. if i remember right our old 400ex was 30 or 35.
