250X kick start on 300ex motor?

O.k. so I'm thinking of building a 250R hybrid. I already have a 250X and a 250R so my first option is to get a modded frame and just mesh them together.

The problem is that the 250X motor could use a rebuild and I'd like something with a little more power, coming from 250r's. I figure it'd be cheaper to buy a slightly used 300ex motor than completely overhaul a 250X motor.

Ideally I'd go with a big bore 350X motor because it has six gears and kick start but I want to have reverse.

So that leaves an option of getting a newer 300ex motor or possibly a 400ex motor but then I have to fab up and figure out where to put a battery.

So that is what I want to do and I was thinking I could install a kick start into a 300ex motor but will that work, has anybody ever done it and are the motors even that similar?

if you can fab the motor into frame, the battery shouldnt even be a problem to fit. i really like my 250x 350x. it is a lot of fun to ride

Well if everything comes together next week, I'm going to try to put a kick start on a 300ex motor.

Everything came together, so now it's just a matter of tearing the motors apart and putting them together.

I'll take pictures and make a new thread.
