Okay I have been trying to sell my 4 wheeler for a while now. for a few reasons.
*No place to ride it
*Need the money
*Going to end up hurting myself.
And I really just dont need a racing four wheeler.
It has been bored over with a wiesco piston, 11:1 compersion
I replaced the gaskets when I rebuilt it.
I put a new clutch cable on it cause the old one was abotu to snap.
I put a white brothers muffler on it.
it has a Uni filter
a magnum bearing carrier in it.
it has nerf bars on it
A newer battery that cranks it up first try everytime.
it has oversized tires on it that need to be changed for racing. but still good for riding around.
I have been asking anywhere from 1500.00 down to 1,000 for it. and all I have been getting is offers for $700-$800.
Is that all a 1996 Honda 300ex is worth? I paid $650 for it and it had to have the top end rebuilt and all. did I overpay to start with?
the plastic dont look good but there okay if your just going to ride it.
here is a picture of it.

and so what? its plastic, has No effect on how it runs.
thats like saying well this car has dents in it but it has a brand new engine but its not worth the money cause it has dents.
as long as the engine is good and the tranny and all good why does everyone care about plastic?
if it had brand new plastic I be more asking for $1800-2200.
then no one would still buy it.

Sorry
. If you have the old plastice still i would put that back on and then put a maier 250r black hood on there and people would deffiantly buy it. Good luck the engine sounds pretty good.

because it looks terrible. appearance is everything. i bought a 300 with more money in aftermarket parts than what i paid. it's a 95.

It is going to need a new set of skins ASAP.

in all honesty, if you bought a 50 dollar hood from maier for a 250r, bolted it to the fenders and covered that ugly hole, you'd raise the value by a few hundred and would maybe be able to get close to 1500 out of it on ebay.

well Aprence shouldnt be everything. I care less what something looks like as long as it runs.... put the stock back on you say...well here is what it looked like

Throw a hood on there and you would get 1200-1400 easily i think.

Take what you can get. Who wants to spend $1000 on something then have to go spend $300 on plastic.
No matter what you say or think - looks/first impression are everything. You've obviously never been in any kind of sales.
I'll give you this example of how looks affect something. If you take 2 brand new quads and don't start either of them, but one you throw mud and grease all over it. You ask the same price for both and I gaurantee you'll get $500 less for the one with mud. It's just perception.
Bottom line, dirty parts/quads, fugly broken plastic quads never fetch the same money as something spruced up/Clean.
It's a 300ex, it's old, you'll likely get $1000 if you hold out. Why would anybody pay $1500 for an 11 year old quad when you can buy a slightly used 06 for $2700. You can buy them brand new for $3000.

well I guess I am stupid cause I just gave $800 for a 1988 300 utility.
its 19 years old.
like I said as long as it runs good I care less what it looks like. oh well

well your going to have to find someone like yourself..............
dont care about looks at all, just want it to run.
alot of people spend alot of money to make their atv/bike/toys
LOOK and run good, if you only have the run good your missing half the package. (you get half the money)
how long you had it ?
its a 1000 dollar atv, if you spend 300 on plastic it will be a 1300 dollar quad.
but it will sell quicker...............you already know that its hard to sell a busted up atv or you wouldnt make this thread.

new piston,
bored out
new clutch cable
everything in my signature. so thats why i am trying to get $1000.00

you might want to reconsider the brand new one for 3000, i just went out and bought an 07 and it was no where close to 3000, try like a little more than 5000.

Brand new 05, 06. You are shopping at the wrong place then. $3200 OTD for an 05.
Point is, they are cheap and can be found cheap. You can pick up 04's in nice shape for $2K

You are being unrealistic. Plain and simple. Sorry it isn't what you wanted to hear, but how many people do you need to come on this post and tell you your asking too much before you believe it. Its pretty obvious that your potential sellers feel the same way or else they'd be offering you more. If you didn't want to hear the truth, then why'd you ask for it?
