im curious as to what the stock horse power on a raptor 350 is also if you know a warrior and wolverines id like to know theres as well seeing as a warriors is probably very similar to the raptors

a stock raptor 350 is about 22 hp and a stock warrior is about 18. not sure about the wolverine, but it would prolly have less because of the automatic clutch and shaft drive

NOPE!!! Not close at all. The Warrior is a tank (heavy) and the 400 is a bit lighter. Plus it has a quicker revving, bigger, slightly higher-tech engine.

I doubt you can feel the difference really.
It's only 4 HP, which I guess might be alot if your lined up drag racing. That small of difference can be made up by the rider himself though if he's any good.

the only difference is the carb and airbox which I doubt would cause a 4 HP increase. maybe cdi box is different too???

hmm yeahh ive ridden 1 rappy 350 before it felt weird handled weird it didnt really have any power but it felt like it kinda just rolled around there isnt much power in the bike

The warrior/raptor is alot different than riding a 300/400ex and many other sport quads. They make their power in the bottom end, thus the warrior likes to be lugged around. It took me awhile to figure this out when I first got my warrior 10 years ago, once I did, it was a completely different riding experience.

last year i was riding a warrior, my mother boyfriend have a raptor 350, and it's was damn close for racing, both stock sprocket and tire! stock everything :P
i dont think raptor have 4more hp!

The biggest difference is the cam, it's a different profile and the carb is a BSR instead of a BTM, the difference is in the throttle response. No Raptor or Warrior feels good when stock, there choked up badly and need rejeting out of the factory. Put a good pipe and filter and jet it and it becomes a much better quad. Also if anyone noticed the yfm 350 motor has a short stroke crank 64.5mm and low compression 9.2:1 which is pretty bad for low end torque. A good raise in compression to 10.25 or 10.5 and a .430 web midrange cam, now your looking at close to 30HP. Also someone said the Raptor is way heavier then a 400EX, not so, the rappy dry weight is 376lbs a 400ex is 375lbs. So a properly jetted raptor out of the factory should keep up with a stock 400. Once you start modifing a 400ex it becomes a different beast, so mod for mod the rappy don't stand a chance.

i agree with the part about modifying the 400ex it becomes a different beast, but the part about a a warrior or even a 350 raptor keeping up with a 400ex stock for stock is completely wrong imo I've seen a warrior with a slip on get beat by a stock 300ex both equal riders imo, the kid with the warrior had it pinned.

the 05' 400ex's are 386 because of the added reverse gear, but in the long run the newer 400ex's are just as quick as the older ones, if not QUICKER, but even the added weight a warrior 350 or a 'raptor' 350 will not touch a 400ex wether or not they are both stock

Man are you one set minded. I've beaten 400s that were modified and not with my 446 either.

The easiest way I have found is to put myself on a diet. But you can do things like removing the parking brake, cutting threads off bolts that stick out past the nut, etc..... like any other machine.

Hondas have a lighter feel than Yamahas. That's what makes them faster in most situations. All Yamahas have been too heavy up front until a few years ago when the 450 came out. The Raptor line was better, but for about 15 years Yamaha just picked up the check at the mailbox.
Reliable machines but there was nothing special. Chain adjusters are straight out of a third-world country, and spread eagle riding position went out in the mid 80s.
