I really want a z 400 but i also like the 400ex. ppl say the ex has way less maint. than a z. how much routine maintenance do u z owners do.

all of the routine maintenece is basically the same the chain clean and lube and oil and spark plugs all the same, but i hear and have experiecned that the z's chain adjustment SUCKS well at least it did till i replaced with all oem parts, idk just be weary of that stuff when you buy

the z is no more maintainance other than the coolant. the z is liquid cooled. the ex is not. on a hot day or when the engine gets hot the ex will lose power. the z also has reverse the older ex's don't. the z has better shocks from 05 and up.

bottom line get the z!
