Excessive high Idle

I just changed out the bottom end on my 250x b/c of some gearing issues, and when I fired her back up, the engine idled excessively high. I played with the idle screw and didn't get any results. Does anyone have any insight on this issue?

Clean your carb. The slide may not be fully closing. Also You may need to adjust the throttle cable.

Sounds like your throttle cable is caught up on something or got bent. Pull the gas tank off and get a longer fuel line then hook it back up and start the bike. This way you will be able to get to the throttle cable and make adjustments or move it around to see if it bound.
