Warrior sputtering at high RPM

I just bought an 87 warrior, and it starts up and runs 100% fine, it has plenty of low end power, but when I get into high RPMs, it sputters and kind of bogs down. I put in a new spark plug, and it was better for about 10 minutes and its doing it again. Im sort of new to quads, so whats going on with it? Jetting?

I would say that your jetting is off..

I'd start with a good carb cleansing. See if that helps. You didn't state if it has a pipe on it or not? If not, your jetting shouldn't be a problem unless your riding at some crazy elevation.
If there is a pipe on it, then gotwarrior's probably right.

i dont know if it has a pipe on it or not, it looks like it has a cobra pipe, but i bought it like this, and I have no idea. Guess ill clean the carb, see if that helps

i got a cobra pipe on my 95 and seems i got the same problum when i try to get on it but when i pull the plug it is black as could be what does that mean

mine is black as hell too! maybe its the cobra pipe? I got a different carb from a running quad, and it is doing the same thing, but at least it doesnt leak gas and I can adjust the air/fuel screw. so there is nothing wrong with the carb, its something else.

ive had this problem before. believe it or not, its one of the fuses that goes into your clutch perch. i had my warrior down to the walves before i found that out.
