just put n new top end when it first cranks it is smoking until it gets hot then it stops smokes pretty bad at first dont understand making a ticking noise and it has a new timeing chain dont under stand need help

Check the valves if you haven't. They could be out of spec. If you put an aftermarket cam in they also tick slightly more. It may smoke for a bit until the new piston and rings get set in their bore. Is there a lot of smoke , or just a bit?

their is just a little smoke when you first crank it i dont know how to check valves
