theres usually a very low rev limiter in reverse on quads, atleast on z400s i know for sure. if it runs fine going forward, reverse wont be any different. my guess is the rev limiter, or somthing in the CDI box. possibly a lose wire or bad ground somewhere.

There is a reverse limiter on the 02 raptors and up. If you give it too much gas it tends to cut out and bog down. There's a way to remove it though, so I would look into that.

#1 bad idea to buy a 660 in the first place. i had one and i had nothing but probelms from the starter to the card to the battery to the brakes complete garbage quad but to answer your question i used to go fast in my reverse on my raptor and i did nothing to mod it so there must be a lose wire because my raptor used to haul *** in reverse lol

as previosly stated the 660s have a rev limiter on reverse with alters the spark. Its a really bad design IMO. I hated using reverse when I had my 660, you could probably replace the cdi and be done with it.

under the front drive sprocket you will find a single wire with a L shaped plastic plug on it. Pull this straight off the stud. Cut of L shaped connector and place back on stud to cover it. Take cut end of wire strip it back and install a ring terminal and ground it to the chassis. You will no longer have a reverse rev limiter. Only downside is that the reverse light won't come on anymore.
Best 5 minute free mod there is. I have included a pic showing the plug(you can see the wire is cut. Second pic shows ring terminal installed and grounded.
