I know quite a bit about quads but never enough! I've been researching exhaust to put on my '01 400ex and i don't know who to go with! My big question is should i get a NICE slip-on and will the stock header be fine for power? OR go for a full system most likely Yoshimura. The slip-on i have in mind is the new motoworks and it is getting BIG raves... any tips or thoughts greatly noted thanks!

The stock 400ex header flows pretty well, but a full system will always be a little better.

i put an HMF on and it woke my bike up alot. im am very pleased with power output. i also did a K&N with the airbox lid left on. im please with it and it didnt break the bank at $217. good luck on ur decision.

i have a fmf powerbomb headpipe on my 400. i could tell a slight difference over stock headpipe. also runnin hmf slip on.

never heard any about the one you are thinking about, but everyone on here is 100% happy with HMF slip ons, i have a full curtis sparks and i couldnt be happier except that its a little on the loud side

i have a pro circuit..its got a decent hp increase w/ the header and silencer...plus its WAY loud..lol...lot legal here...

well a slip on is alright if your motor is all stock, but if you have any motor work done or are planning on doing it later on then you should go with a full system. I personally like my full hmf sport. i had an fmf with powerbomb header and the power hits much harder on my hmf, and it sounds awesome.

it all depends on what you have done to your motor, if it is stock then you can get away with just a slipon, but if you have any thing done to your motor or are planning on doing somthing then you should go with a full system. I love my full hmf, i had a fmf powercore 4 with powerbomb header. my hmf hits so much harder than the fmf. i would go with the hmf, oh and it sounds bad ***

i have a yoshi full, and i love it. thats just my 2 cents.

2 questions... i had looked into the HMF but decided against it.... what does it sound like? deep grumble... high pitch..? it is most likely between HMF and Yoshimura rs-3 full systems of each... also how well do you like your yoshi gilliam? nice performance and sound? and thanks for helpin me so far all of you... been a great help!

the hmf has a deep agressive sound, its not over loud when idleing but has sood has you crack the throttle it puts out one of the most aggressive sounds, where at in missouri are you
