I have an 86 trx250r. Has anyone chromed the stock a-arm on this bike. My concern is the rubber inserts that are no-removable. Can any one help.

Can't be done without cutting the old ball joints off and fabbing up new mounts to accept removable ball joints. The way R parts are dropping in price your better off finding a used set of aftermarket and having those chromed.

BS, I have seen plenty of sets done. Stock banshee arms are done all the time. Find a chrome shop and talk to them about it, it can be done because it has been many times before.

He didn't ask about banshee arms, alot of stock arms can be chromed but if its got a solid mount ball joint like the 86 TRX 250r lower does, it can't be chromed the conventional way.
If you've seen so many arms done show me a pic of 1 set of 86 stock arms chromed, not rattle can chrome either

If you are only looking to have your top arms done those rubber parts have to come out to chrome them.

No joke he didnt ask about banshee arms but the point is they are exactly the same. You ever seen stock banshee arms with removable ball joints? I dont think so. Doesnt matter it can be done yes you are incorrect. We had a set of 88 arms, stock that were chromed. None of the balljoints on a 88 are removable. It was not rattle can chrome, I only have about 20 chrome parts on the quad and I think I know the difference.

i dont see why you couldnt chrome a stock set. I know you cant powder coat a stock set but those are two totally different processes...chroming doesnt use any heat. It just uses and electric charge and dip tanks with the plating material. As long as the material wouldnt affect the ball joints i dont see why you couldnt have them chromed...the material isnt going to stick to the rubber bushings because they cant be electrically charged.

I have a set of '86 stock arms that are chromed. I'd be willing to sell them too. I replaced them with a set of Lonestars. They have been slightly modified at the frame mounts to fit a Lonestar chassis, but will still work fine on a stock frame.

Chrome is the best option for a-arms in my opinion. I had powdercoat and after having chrome it surprisingly stands up very well to everything. I would definately recommend it.

Actually I don't think mine are stock. They are stock length but they have two shock mounts on each side, one for longer shocks.

OK Guys
The ball joints are not the problem. It is again the rubber inserts at the pivot point were you attach the a-arm to the frame. I do not see how to remove the rubber inserts. The plastic one come out. I may be missing something here. Help me if you can.
Thanks
