It's a KILLER deal for you as the Z is SOOOO much better a bike than the EX! That makes me wonder what's wrong with the Z? Has it been crashed? How long ago was the piston done & how much run time on it? Something must be up with the Z because it really IS a better bike. Find out as much as you can before trading. If he is a friend, get him really drunk & THEN see what's up with his bike! Talk to his friends to see if any of them have heard him say anything. I don't mean to sound paranoid but you need to find out what's up. Ray.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not buying the story. Why would you ever trade a race ready Z for a 400ex? I'm not saying there is anything bad about a 400ex. If he wanted to have a race ready 440 he could have done it with an ex. Granted there are some advantages the Z has over the ex (i.e. liquid cooled and duel cam), but still if he liked the ex's better in the first place and found them more dependable....he would have bought one and made it race ready to begin with. It's sounds like a steal, but prolly for him.
