how do i put a cam in my Z

there are two of them, and its a really simple process actually. take off the tank and side panels and youll see the cover on top. take that off and the cams are exposed. next take out the cam chain tensioner on the side of the motor. the cam chain is now loose. remove the cam top bolts and pull the cover off gently. now the cams are ready to come out and put new ones in.

remember before taking the tensioner out, check the timing marks and put the motor at top dead center. a service manual helps tons.

do i have to adjust valves? this things only 6 months old...i would imagine not ut what you guys say?

ANYTIME you change cams you HAVE to check valve clearance! You may or may not have to adjust them. Do yourself a favor & save yourself a TON of headaches & go to your dealer & buy a shop manual for your bike! You can even get the CD Rom one off of Ebay for under 10 bucks! Ray.
