I just bought this for my wife. Shouldn't I be able to stop with it in gear and not have it die? I know it has to be in nuetral to start but what pain if she has to down shift into neutral every time to stop.

what do you mean stop in gear? like stop and let it idle? but it doesnt idle and it dies? you can set you idle higher so it stays running! but any more questions ask

I mean if I am riding in say second gear I can not come to a complete stop with out the bike dieng. I have to shift into neutral. I thought this bike should be able to stop in any gear and not die.

idle needs to be raised. I'm assuming the bike is stock?

Posted by: 250exkid

yes raise your idle and yes you should be able to stop in gear

It is stock. I will raise the idle. If that doesn't help any ideas what it could be? I tried adjusting the clutch and that did not help.

umm clean your fuel lines also and new gas and oil water might be in it

Posted by: 250exkid

did you fix it?

its ur clutch wen it gets wasted on a 250ex it starts 2 stall thats not supposed 2 happen beacuse its a semi so yea it worn out

Posted by: 250exkid

but if its worn out r u sure it would do that?.. and for the guy who posted the thread, does it stall only in 1st gear?? or all? cuz then that would be a worn out clutch
