What I did was made a new one out of 6mm threaded rod.It has held up good so far but I would like to make one out of roundbar to make it a little more rigid..

get a small piece of larger diameter steel and drill out both ends the diameter of the stock linkage, then cut your stock linkage in a straight area and insert the extension and weld in place

i ended up taking 1/4 ich rod and put thread on it with a tap and die....then heated up the end with the 90 and bent it...that worked out so much better...it is alot stronger!!!!
