where does everyone get the carbon fiber wheels for the outlaw? and do they hold up.my stockers are grooved out on the inside.
Posted by: calds650
they get grooved too you need grind down the bumps on the bottom of the A-arm

dont know if you guys are talking about the 525 but do both models of the outlaw have this problem or just the 500
Posted by: calds650
both the 500 and the 525

calds650, Didnt you say it was the PRM a-arm skids that caused the problem? Raced mine twice still no marks!
Posted by: calds650
The grooves are from the bumps. I then ground them down added the PRM guard and went for a test ride. The PRM guards are cutting the inner Bead lock.

Nothing changed from the 500 to the 525 concerning the a-arm rub. My 525 had marks in the rims in the very first 30 minutes out. Even after taking down the nubs some they still hit.

I think the answer to all these problems seems to be the need for 10" wheels

Hipers are 10 inch rim....
Posted by: mike gp
Well you would think the bigger wheel dia. would help clearance.
Posted by: MentalState
They will but the hipers are constructed in a way that the way they are formed leaves raised edges making the inside diameter smaller than a regular aluminum 10 inch rim...

I've seen the ribs is this what you are talking about. If the ribs are worn down does this make them weak? I took my stock rear wheels off last night and noticed some play in the upper arm bushing at the spindle. normal?
Posted by: Outlaw 50
The rear wheels should be removed and the upper busing should be greased EVERY time the quad is washed or ridden in water.
Unfortunately for all of us who own an Outlaw the design of the upper bushings leaves too much clearance in the bushing. The grease is what makes up the difference.
I grease the bushing every time I ride the quad.

Glas you mentioned this I didn't know there was grease zerks in there.

I look at it this way ..If you score something then whack it..Its going to split on the score marks...I dont likt this flaw at all..But everything else about the bike makes me not care..
Hopefuly soon someone will come out with aftermarket pieces..

I just checked, and one side on my 525 is rubbing. I really thought they fixed this problem, guess not.

I just checked the Polaris parts diagram. It looks like a lot of new parts are being put on the 525 in the rear. So if your born on date is before 1/29/07 you will not have new parts, after 1/29/07 will. Looks like new rear carrier and all parts to it and new upper control arms. Don't know if this is a fix, but there all new.

Damn!

if we can get DWT to make a 10x8 EVO FS71 FS (FreeStyle) in a Outlaw offset problem may be solved

My 525 was built in the middle of Dec. and it has the needle bearings!?
Posted by: Evasiveone
So your 525 does not have a grease zerk on the carrier bearing for the upper pivot?
According to the schematic and my service manual if it has needle bearings it will not have a grease zerk for the upper pivot.
Posted by: CHADHIX
It does not have any grease zerk on its hub like my 500 did. It is defiantly needle bearings as I have already had them out and greased them up.

Well I am jealous then. Does it alleviate the slop that the bushing style has? I can grease mine go on a short run then have the slop right back again.
