i just switched my order from a ct 240 kit to a airsal 240 firebreather kit. which do you think is better? the ct was on back order for 7-10 weeks

The ct must be popular!

Was the CT cylinder kit comming from CT, or somewhere else.
Untill they change the castings on the Airsal cylinders it will never be as good as the CT Racing cylinders.
Some porting can be done to the Airsal & it makes it a bunch better, but that stock reed cage chamber on those cylinders is whats holding the engine back.

no it was coming from project blaster. when i found out that it was on back order for that long i changed it to the firebreather kit. does the ct come ported?
but with the larger ports the ct will lose velocity. i would rather have a bit more bottom end than top end.

Yes, the CT will come ported.
I was talking to Allen at CT the other day, they have one they been playing with on alky fuel laying down 51 HP & a girl riding it just killing banshees.

Found out today, CT is out of castings as well, no time given when any will be in for machining.

wow time out is it even posible to make a blaster have 51hp thats as much as a yfz puts out with a hmf pipe and a uni air filter

Posted by: blasterfreak99
yeah it makes about 40 with a ported 240 kit. and with alky i am pretty sure that it would be about right

alroghty. i am also getting my flywheel lightened
Posted by: Kendall33
Just an opinion for the lightened flywheel...don't do it...because once you have more power coming from your motor it will b e easier for it to spin your flywheel....if you leave it stock it will be perfect for a full on race motor,or a 240 kit whichever you have...we tried different flywheel weights and the stocker always did the best....It seemed if it was lightened at all it wasnt putting power to the ground it was just spinning it off...just my 2 cents

thanks for the tip. i am not getting a lot removed just a little. i will also be going to a 6 ply tire (from a two ply) and i will be getting some heavier rims so it should (maybe) equal out.
