About a month ago, we had a big 50 lap atv race in VT. I put about 1/2 of the tank full with C16 Racing Fuel, which is meant for cars. I have never done this before. The other 1/2 was regular fuel. Will it really harm the engine if i keep doing this. It was in my 2003 250ex btw.

no because all it is is higher octane fuel. don't worry about it

it will turn your valves into pixie dust and your block into a pillar of salt

nope, you should be good to go. you can basically say that you're running 103.5 octane with the half and half mix, assuming that the pump gas is 91 octane. how were the results of running that?
Posted by: Tater049
yea it was 91 octane. And omg there was a really good increase. The race was during a rain storm that we got around 3 inches of rain. So there was a ****load of mud everywhere. The engine was ripping and it performed great. I want to do it again the next race, because it was so good.

LOL theres a sucker born every minute
I dont see how you saw any performance increase if you're running a stock piston. I never saw any difference between 87 and 93.

im telling you, i seriously saw an increase, and it was pretty amazing too.

i get my gas from the airport when i race its a 103 octane i think tons of difference and my quads fine

Pretty much a waste of $$ for a stock motor & a 250ex to boot
but I guess if you wanna spend the $$
If you want to boost your octane you could try Klotz Octane boost, 8.99 bottle which treats 5 gls i think thru RMATV!! mix it w/ 92 octane & it bumps it too 110 I do believe, that is what we are switching to in our YFZ race bike, race gas is just getting too dang spendy!!
Have fun

well i figured you were exaggerating a bit, but i didn't know if it would corrode the vavle train or not.
87 and 93 is not a big difference but i think from 91 to 103 you would see SOME gains but not a lot

my head pipe gets red hot when i use 87 haha. 93 octane or i had better be moving fast enough to keep cool air on the engine and oil cooler.. i dont have a need to run anything higher with my compression ratio, but i definitely get scared when trails only have gas stations with 87 octane.

Its irrelevant. You should run on the lowest octane gas that doesn't make the bike ping or detonate.

she gets some pre-detonation with 87 haha

its not really a waste of money, only when im trying to beat my friends who take their 250's when we have a race. And if you want to see a waste of money, go find the thread the is all about this guy putting a turbo on a 250ex. Now thats a waste of money.

C16 IS USELESS ON ANYTHING WITHOUT HI COMPRESSION OR BOOST.
