I'm sure you guys have all already talked about this but if the KTM engine shaved off about 39lbs on the Outlaw wouldn't it give us a 370-375lb Predator. Who wouldn't like to try a ride on that

Any info? Will it happen?

from last yerar Outlaw the new 525 is 44 lbs lighter. Not sur onthe Predator geting the KTM engine but KTM's quads 450,525 should be out soon they are in final testeing .

A 525 Predator would be sweet wouldn't it. With the '07 Pred coming in at 405 lbs, a 40 lb diet would put it right around 365 lbs. The rumors are out there of a test mule 525 preddy so hopefully it pans through.

I think it would be interesting to know how much that KTM's 450 is going to weigh.

While we're on the subject it seems like the Predator has been called 412lbs. , 415lbs, and 405. What changes would have affected weight by that much or is it just marketing. You wouldn't think with added reverse, longer stem and rock guards at the brakes it would be lighter than ever.

I think a bunch of that wieght was in tires. Couple years they put on heavier 6 ply tires I think.

07 they removed the Pro steering system

actually i'm pretty sure they still have the PRO steering (will have to see an '07 to confirm,) but they went to the Ryde FX shocks and the dunlop radials which are lighter than the razr-r. That is where the weight drop came from b/c if you check out the '07 LE with the Fox Podium-X shocks and the Razr-R's, it is still 415lbs.

I believe the Pred for 07 no longer has the Pro steering. The Outlaws still do tho.
