How do you know when you should raise your pilot jet?

My quad has a bit of trouble starting, i have a 42 pilot and it has problems ideling.

Mods are, sparks x6 full, je 10.8:1 piston, hotcam stg 2, twin air filter, 165k main, 42 pilot.

Shoud I raise the pilot to a 45?

Anyone? It also pops on deacceleration a little bit.

If it's popping on decel (lean) than you need to turn out your fuel screw. If your fuel screw is out beyond 3 and a 1/2 turns than it 's time to go up to the next sized pilot jet.

Turn it out another 1/2 turn and see how that effects your idle and popping issue. If it persists than go to a 45 and set your screw to 1 to 1 and 1/2 out. That should work for you.
