I just picked up a cobra 50 last week but need a 70 engine so this one is up for grabs. It is out of the 50 that won the WPSA Jr class last season (Corey Heath). It received a new top end two weeks ago ( piston, rings, wrist pin, bearings, and gaskets, new clutch, new clutch cover gasket) and we haven't rode it since we purchased it. I'll take $1000 + shipping.

Brian,
You do know that to change to a shifter motor that you will need a 70 swing arm. The 50 swing arm is too narrow. You may also have to do a little ginding on the frame to get everything to fit. Just a quick note!

Actually, the 50 and 70 frame are identical. So the outer width of the swingarm are the same. The only thing he will need to do is trim the inside, I think it is about a 1/2 inch for the wider rear engine mount of the 70 engine. Everything else about the swingarm is identical except the tubing thickness and it is set up to run the ohins shox vs the fox shox which comes on the 70's. One advantage to this is that the shock and swingarm on the 50 is lighter. Depending on the weight of your kid and jumping ability the 50 combination will hold up well.
