Is it really nescsary to to upgrade your carb and cams and everything when you install an Athena 440 kit.I read where you could use it on a stock bike but would notice more performance with an exhaust and air filter.THANKS!!!

I will tell you like many have told me before. If you go with a big bore cylinder you will see a crap load of power gained. Add an fcr 39 or 40 to that and they say the power from adding the carb to the big bore is actually more than from stock bore to big bore. If that doesn't make sense i'll say it differently. The carb adds more noticeable power than the big bore, BUT only when added to a big bore. So i'm sure if you put a bigger carb on the stock bore it probably isn't that substantial of an increase like it is on a big bore. My next mod is a FCR, but we'll see if i ever actually do it, been saying i'm going to do it for 5 months now

Well I would go with cams myself. I'm not sure you'll see a whole lot of gain from the 440 alone. What other mods do you have?

I would deffinately put cams on the "to buy" list as well. It will rev alot faster with cams.
