i;ve got a 330 with machined cases, and just wondering will i be wasting my time running my paul turner barrel on them ??.

You should be ok switching back to the stock cylinder.
Sence the cases have been cut you will end up with more crankcase volume which will reduce the crankcase presure & slow the charge going up through the ports, sometimes this helps with bottom end power. With a combination like this, its always good to have a pipe with a good suction wave.

It will be fine, my 265 is using cases that were machined for a big bore.
