im going to get the new maier shiny plastic for my 400ex.. do you need a gas tank cover or does the one piece fronts cover it???

Yes you will have to have the cover, you can order it seperately from Maier or use a stock one!

you need the maier tank cover. the stock will fit but you will have to cut the tabs on it to fit right

Yes you have to get a new tank cover. The stock cover is the best one to get. It has the little hooks that connect it to the rest of the plastic. I have the corbon fiber tank cover on my. Its pretty nice but it don't fit well.

man i didnt even think about that!! I have a stock cover(brand new) that I was going to use with my white plastic!! Guess i better cut those tabs off,,,,does it still fit good after you do that???
