We've been testing at our track and wow !!!! my boy loves the grunt of the four stroke the suspension is cush .. Great job Willie and gang at Willie Moto World thanks for the support !!!!!
Posted by: azextreme
Robb is this WORCS @ speedworld??
Posted by: WMW-F4R
The clutch that comes on the Xtremes is an auto-clutch...on the 70 and 90 it is mounted on the crankshaft and on the 125 it is gear driven and mounted on the main shaft of the transmission.
Posted by: azextreme
So how did it turn out??
Posted by: WMW-F4R
We got on the podium in 2 classes:
WORC RD. 1
1st Place - 71 - 90cc Mod (30 min moto)
3rd Place - 8-15yr. Sport (50 min moto) Got stuck on a deep rut!
Grant turned the fastest lap time in both classes, the sport class he was 16 seconds faster than the first place finisher!
Congratulations Grant for a great ride!!!
Posted by: azextreme
Good job!
So how did the Typhoon stack up against the main stream minis?? trx, apex,lt ect.
Posted by: WMW-F4R
Actually we went by them on the straights and we were still in third gear (a little tall on the gearing). Robb reported that the handling in the rough and the top speed were golden for this race! We are going to lower the gear ratio a bit for quicker starts. Looking for the holeshot!

How much do u have in this bike if u don't mind me asking ?
Posted by: QuadJunkies
Is he in the 71-90cc mod class because its a 4-stroke?
Why is he not racing the shifter class??How does this quad qualify for a CVT class?I know they have a TRX90 in the Shifter class because well...it shifts lol
BTW.. I seen this mini and rider at round1(abd 2 briefly) hes a good little racer and the quad looked real good!
I think my Son placed behind him at round one
Ive seen a few of these quads at a local FT.
Best of luck in the WORCS series,Im sure we will bump into one another at one of the Rounds
Posted by: robb
hi Quad junkies ,
Thanks for taking all the great photos at the Worcs races we will be at Havasu in march will have to talk . the 71 to 90 mod class allows cvt's and auto shifters in the class 90 cc 2 stroke and up to 125 4 stroke its in the rule sec youth classes this is nothing like a J.B. mod 90 shifter quad there are a few trx's in his class as well .
Posted by: robb
Hey Shane,
We have about 5,500 in the quad cant complain so far. We ran a two stroke 90 cvt mod last season cost was up there for maintence and repairs. We're still early in the season put everything is going great!! Give Willie a call 530-822-0707 at Willies Moto World and they can answer your questions ,and build what ever you would like. We will give reports after every round of WORCS . and we race two other local events here in nor-cal so the quad is getting a good work out.
Posted by: Shane Mancuso
Hey Robb,
Thanks for the # I willing be giving them a call !! and again nice bike and good look this season

WORCS National Series Point Leader in 2 Classes!
Grant Mitchell aboard his Willie's Moto World sponsored Factory 4 Racing Xtreme Type R mini quad rode to a double podium for the third time in a row at Rd. 3 at Lake Havasu. The course was the roughest yet of the race tracks so far and the Type R is keeping Grant in front of the competition. Grant will be riding a new updated Type R very soon, faster, stronger, improved F & R suspension for even better handling.
Great job Grant!

I just like to know how you have kept the bike running long enough to even finish a race?
From what I understand these bikes have a very weak transmission and crank. A buddy of mine bought one of these bikes recenty and the bike has less than 5 hours on it and has broken both of the items that I have mentioned. Not to mention bending the rear sub-frame and swing arm with a 70-80lb rider.
I'm not bashing here, just stating the facts.
Bill

Wild West Racing
Take a look at page 2 on this post and there is a list of mods you can have built by Willies Moto World that will help your Buddy out on his Xtreme we've been racing the bike for awhile now and besides regular maintince the quad has ran great!
WORCS racing is a great test on the quad, rough off road and technical mx.He will get your race quad set up give them a call.
Posted by: WildWestRacing
I checked out page 2 and I didnt see anything about the crank. I did see the tranny and centrifugal clutch mod. I'm curious about the centrifugal mod. What did that consist of?
My buddy upgraded the trans after it broke and then at round 1 of the Atva National at Millcreek in Alabama the crank broke during the frist lap of practice. According to the folks at Xtreme this is a common problem and they are working on an upgraded crank.
I havnt seen any posts on this forum about this problem. I'm just wondering if the crank problem is as wide spread as Xtreme implied.
I should tell you that the engine had several internal mods that increased the horsepower significantly.
I'm sorry about getting of the topic here about your bike. I'm just trying to help a freind get his machine up to par as far as reliabilty goes.
I think the Typhoon has alot of potential if the reliabilty issues can be worked out.
Thanks for the info and good luck with your bike. It looks awesome.
Bill
Posted by: toybreaker
if your talking about the Internal rotor kit {IRK} mod
that mod brakes cranks on numerous pit bike motors 2 or 4 wheelers
has anybody done this mod yet on the quad
I'm told it's free-er reving but you loose torque {and you break cranks}
.
.
also the 90 and 70 motors on your extreme's in the states,, are they all clutch on the "main crank" type config
as opposed to clutch on the "main shaft" like the 125 configuration???
Posted by: WildWestRacing
The internal mods I was referring to is a high compression piston, bigger cam, ported head. Just the basics.

Cobra 70 or 90 auto or manual clutch what bike are you asking about?
Posted by: azextreme
what ever bike that is in your class??
Posted by: robb
There are none in are class
Posted by: azextreme
I only seen one at the track one time. My kids modded Baja strom 120 lifan engine ( I pulled the stock junk engine) manual smoked it, but the rider makes a big difference! So I am wonder at these bigger series races you attend have you seen these cobras vs. typhoon, trx ect. with closer rider skills perform and dominate the races??? or cobra vs. 8k bike no difference???
Posted by: robb
All the quads are fast when modded the way we race them, so I quess the pilot would help make a difference. Grant has only got the hole shot once this year . He is around 3 rd out of the start. The TRX's , DRR's, and all the other brands out there all are fast with great pilot's on them. It makes race day exciting!!
Posted by: raidernut
robb shouldnt you be in your garage tuning something instead of on the computer?
Posted by: robb
True , can't give up that pull like a tractor speed though !!!! I'll spend a few minutes on it today . What were you doing taking a break from the garage? later
Posted by: CEOR
We took a few of podium sitters, and put them on one of our spare shifter bikes
We would of been better off teaching them spanish. They had no clue what they where doing??????
Is this a small example of things to come? Or should we petition to open an entire different class to bridge a much needed gap??
Posted by: robb
SEAT TIME ?
Posted by: CEOR
Do'nt get me wrong, I'm ALL Typhoon! I'm talking about CVT riders making the transition into one of our bikes. The potential of our kid,s Typhoons are limited at this time. Or are they? Classes our kids can race competiveatly in right now......Yes are limited. But I think as this bike evolves. So can our kids utilize this bike to make the transition from a cvt to a shifter, to even a convential shifter- hand clutch motor. These bikes have great potential, and our family and friends are having a great time racing them!
Posted by: robb
I think the quad is competive in the 90 cc 2 strk to 125 4 strk class, as an auto shifter against the cvt quads. Would be interesting with full manual clutch and a built 144 cc modded motor against the shifters. I think the quad needs a little more width and length to handle the speed . Might be a great project for next year ????
Posted by: CEOR
I absolutly agree with the you in regards to being competive in the 90cc (2 stroke)- 125cc (4stroke)- class. Our daughter took 4th in points, and a third overall in just her first season of racing.
We are already heading down the road with an 140cc manual clutch set-up. She's getting the hang of the clutch, and the bike rips!!!
Still not up to par with the other competition we'll be up against yet.
We are working the suspension over now. Front end is dialed. Rear is coming along. We got the width, but wheel base.....I know where your going with that.
We have worcs series coming up this weekend, and a few local District 37 desert events we've been invited to.
I think we're leaning more towards racing in the desert for awhile, untill the local fall series MX starts up again.

How dependable has it been this season?
Posted by: robb
The quad has been very dependable this year only one dnf the whole year , we broke a heim joint on the front a-arm then replaced with hardened heim joints all the way around . I've been very pleased with the quad . But it's far from a stock extreme 125 we have modded every thing on the quad to withstand the punishment of racing the best we could. It's been a nice break from dealing with my last 2-stroke . clean filter and change oil

Posted by: robb
Well i'm happy to say WORCS will not be back in pismo in 2008 yea! The sand was hard on us this year Grant heated the clucthes up so hot the rubber bushings mealted and went through the oil pump,so he had about 1/2" of slack in it , and snapped his crank after the first lap, he was upset but stayed out to cheer everyone on till the end. when his new ride shows up I'll post a few pics he's excited about moving up to the shifter class but there are alot of real fast riders up there.

Well time to say good bye to the Xtreme went to a great new home! Hoping to see it at the track this year in the near future.
But his new quad is in route and will be here any day and I will post pics when it arrives. Will have to start a new thread for 2008 ,but no sub-forum for the 90mods and 150 mods and all the small custom mini's maybe they start one?Have a Merry Christmas!!!
Posted by: chrisw2099
Rob, Mariah got the quad Christmas morning and loved it. She's picking the shifter up pretty quick, and it seems to be working really well. She rode it for a couple hours on Christmas day in Taft. Well have to see about the racing this year, not sure if that will happen but I'll send you some pics sometime so Grant can know his quad is getting some good use.
Posted by: robb
Glad to hear she is enjoying the quad thats great! Can't wait to see some pics , will be a little odd with out Grant on the machine though have a good one later
Posted by: 400ex4ever
Robb looking forward to see your guys in the shifter ranks. I am really interested in see your shifter. Heard thru the grape vine a 150R. Can't wait to see it. I might have a few tricks up my sleeve too...
Should be a great season for the shifter class....
Posted by: robb
We can't wait to see it either going to pick it up tomorrow and hopefully get some track time before AZ I will post some pics . Yeah couldn't stay away from the four strokes hopefully the thing will keep up with the cr 125 two strokes , the 150r were the motors designed to take the place of the cr 85's so if we can be a little competitive with this motor it will be surprising, in the shifter class.
Posted by: 400ex4ever
Looking forward to the pics...
It should be able to hold its own especially with Grant at the helm. Should be interesting to see what it will do against those 125's.

Congrats Robb.
Kelseys is getting soooo excited to see everyone again.Shes go stirecrazy and hasnt raced or really rode since Pismo!
Actually, neither one of them.
Were waiting on a new quad, motors,parts.... starting to sweat a little as were getting down to the wire and NO QUADS!
lol
Thats a sweet ride ! Grant will be pinning it in no time!
We made a small change to Kelseys motor this year, nothing too drastic as I feel going with anything bigger would just be over kill.
When she is using ALL the power that 85 has, we will talk.
It might be her last year racing in the mini class anyhow, then Brandon can have it.
See you in AZ!
I hope Troys flight doesnt cancel this time!

Robb,
Do you know what gas tank you are running in your MOD 150. I am curious because I was looking at upgradeing to a little larger gas tank and thought you might all ready have one with the bigger motor. If you could check and let me know it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

Looks like the same tank we had on our Kasea so I'm a little nervous right now! Will be working on a bigger fuel cell tomorrow. If you no what bigger tank will work or might work let me no, maybe we can get it figured out.
Thanks Robb

how about bolting a six pack rack to the back, with a 1 or 2 gallon gas can strapped to it. You could have a hose from the gas can plumbed into the main tank with a valve in between. When grant runs low he could just reach back and turn the valve. As a bonus when running shorter mx races, he could use the six pack rack to hold dads post race beverages.

I like the six pack idea...........
Cause if you don't need the fuel and put the beverages in there, Dad can grab one when they pull into the pits cause somethin is broke
Great idea
