whatsup guys gotta quick question just tore down my 99 and i was wondering what kind of coolant do yous use? Do i have to get it from yamaha or can i just pick some up from auto store.
---also clutch cover fluid can i use any tranny fluid? thanx

I use Engine Ice (very good stuff) for my coolant.

For the tranny I used Ams oil for a while but it kept soaking into my clutches and making them slip. So I stay away from AMS crap.

I now use Maxima 80Wt Tranny oil. Never had a problem with it. People say its too thick but I have been runnig it 2 years like this and no problems.

I suggest picking all this stuff up from a dealer or online atv parts store so you know you are not getting something that will ruin your atv. I stay away from autozone and wally world specials

yea somebody told me i could just use like a regular car trans fluid dexron 3 or 4.

what I used premixed 32:1

what i use in my tranny

engine ice

If you buy these in bulk they are pretty cheap. I suggest buying it first at the dealer and see how you like it before buying in bulk

is that where ya buy your fluids from online? isnt shipping expensive? or do ya buy a case of it?

--i might just go to martins motorsports yamaha dealer and see what they got. Do ya think it would be more at the dealer?

I ust to buy online until the dealer started giving me some good deals

GM dexicool (orange/red) for tranny fluid I run the same Revtech fluid we run in our harley it works good with the clutch I have.. I use to run B&M trick shift but that stuff is quite expensive!
