Can I use a 450r's taillight on a 250r ??

no, it has a 3 prong plug that goes to wiring harness. You need to get lucky and find somebody who cut the harness.

so.... why couldnt I cut the connector on the tail light and splice it into my 250r harness ??

that extra wire on the tail light should just be the juice for the brake lights....

no, the plug is very diiffernt from a 250r. Same thing goes with most never 400ex too. The third plug is for a brake light. If you ever look at one, you will see why you can't connect it w/o right plug.

.... but why can't ya just cut the connector off the tail light and splice it in ?

because there is no wire coming out of the tail light, there is a plug molded into the housing.

O I C , thanks for clearing that up.

if ya could manage to get your hands on the wire end connectors that is required to plug into the 450r tail light and the connectors that are needed to plug into the 250r harness, then you could makeup a double ended harness that'll close the gap needed to hook up the light in the desired mounting location. as the 250r tail light harness ends way short. juss a food for thought.

I got my tail light from my friend who cut the harness off the main harness. I plan on putting ends on the wires and putting in a rear and front brake switch on the master cylinders.
