I was just at a quad shop in my town, And saw a DIESEL polaris!
THis thing was louder than a FORD power joke..
The guy told me that it gets around 80miles to the gallon..
While I was talking to the owner of the shop., A Farmer came in and baught it for $5,500.. I think it was a 1999..

I have been thinking about getting one as a utility quad for farm work but hadn't heard too much about it and don't know of anybody who has one. Did it seem to be a decent utility, what all did the dealer have to say about it?

I had a diesel VW Rabbit, hehehe, it too was slow, but man, I only had to gas up like twice a month which was sweet cause I was younger and poorer, now I'm just old and poor, I'm "movin on up,,,"

i dunno if their reliable or not but hey guess what..their sloowwwww

Polaris doesn't make them anymore because peopel were just buying a sportsman500 instead and it does everything the diesel can and more.

I would think theres any place for diesel in quads. I hate diesel trucks. And would hate a diesel quad.

i want a kerosene quad lol run forvever and super hot!
lol polaris would make that if we said we wanted one lol my riding buddies dad has a 1949 john deere v-twin tractor that does you run it on gas unti its warm and before you shut it off you do to its a weird mofo....

The benifit to the diesel was the ability to run on farm feul. It also has different clutching than the 500HO. It is a tractor not a quad. good for pullin a brush hog or mending a fence, Plowin the drive way and feedin stock. If you want it for anything else, buy the 500ho or the new 600 twin. The 700 is too much.
