Well actualy I like the old style head lights better, not a big fan of the new ones...I find the old style look meaner cause it's pointy...but everyone has different opinion on that so.

As for making it dark...that was a last minute thing before a race, I ruined one light because of roost, it just sandblasted the light...so I got a new one, and the day before the race I just put some duct tape on there to cover it, and painted that black, I loved the way it look so I left it on after the races, the for the rebuilt I just repainted it...just for pics, I had to take it off later that same night, cause well I went trail riding and needed the light to not crash lol....i'm planning on making a carbon fiber light cover, that I could just snap on and off, for races and night riding.

Looks sweet.How about polishing up the head and mid pipe I think that would balance out your look.And all you need is time.

Not really a fan of black R's but your graphics make it look great.

Thanks alot guys I really appretiate it.

The red frame, I used base / clear, automotive grade paint, the colour is Dodge VIPER red...with the clear coat it looks like glass it turned out real nice.

As for the black R, I had it red last year, but I love black, I had my 500ex that was black, and I checked out some pics on the net with the graphic kit...and it looked better on black one's IMO and I wanted to go black again..so I did

As for polishing the head pipe, that would look sweet, but I don't have a sand blaster, so just rubbing the rest took me around 3 weeks, I was sick of rubbing lol, and it looks good, but it doesn't last as soon as it heats up it turns gold again.

Your quad looks very good. One of the best looking black 450's I've seen and I love the blacked-out headlight (even if is is just painted tape).

Yeah I know, for the tape, I'll try to make a carbon fiber light cover in the next couple weeks...add to the blig blig lol ...and well it would be better then duct tape lol.

How much to get the whole motor p/c (I guess that's what you done) ?

As far as the header, I'd get it ceramic coated. I had the midpipe on my 954RR done and love it.

I didn't get it pc'ed...I wanted to, but no money for it at the time, so I just painted it...the only places that will wear will be the side covers, so when I get a couple extra $ i'll get just the covers pc'ed...the rest won't weat anyway, so no point in spending all that money on powder.

For the paint on the frame I used automotive paint, base/clear and the colour is Viper red.

As for painting the front fenders, I used some flexx paint ( stuff you have to use on plastic ) the just normal spray paint.

The graphic kit is the AKRAIX graphics.

When I used to build RC airplanes we would use rit dye to tint the plastic canopys I wonder if it would work for the headlight lens

Denniskirk sells this carbon fiber sheets that is like a sticker. You could put that on your headlight to make it look cool.

ah ok, yeah that might work out then.

As for the carbon fiber sticker, you can get them at WALMARTI had some on my 500ex on the side covers...It would look sweet, but the problem with that is that I do night riding, so It won't stay on to long...and it's harder then it looks to make it without bumps...the light turn in everyway lol.

Thats why I'll try to make a removable carbon fiber cover, that way I can easily put it on or take it off.

As for actions shots, I only have good ones of the way it was before...Theres snow here now, so no mx for a couple more months...I do need to get a couple nice trail / turn pics.
