Did a rebuild for my friends on an 92 250x. Last thing i need done is just to put the spark plug in and when I put it in and try and use a sparkplug socket i cant get the rachet all the way on because it its the engine vavle cover part. If i try and use a wrench around the sparkplug socket it wont fit either because the damn case/head is to close to fit anything on. How the hell can i get it in.

Yeah, that thing's a pain.... What you need is one of those thin tools that isn't for a ratchet. It has a hole to put a screw driver in to tighten. Something like for a chain saw.

excatly what project said, mine is about 4 inches long and its a breeze to get it in and out of the little area you have to work in.

Yeah, those things are great. They should have them at any parts store. Also I have heard of some sockets thin enough..

do you guys mean a breakerbar? Just a thing bar that has the thing to connect to the sparkplug socket?

Posted by: honda250xrider

no where close to a breakerbar, Mine is a steel peice that is hollow and has 2 different sizes, one on each end, simply at the top it has a slot so you can fit a screwdriver or what not in there to allow it to tighten. I will try to get a picture for you sometime.

the right tool came with the quad b4 but you should probably be able to toghten with ya hands

What they are talking about is the plug wrench from the original tool kit. You can get one at any dealer or find a deep well thin wall socket.

Yeah, what 250xRider said. I know some tool came with it, but after all the years/ owners good luck getting it.

Never use only your fingers... not a smart idea.
